Letter from the Editor; I always seem to have a little spring in my step at this time of year. I don’t know if it is because my batteries are recharged thanks to a few weeks away from the desk or the anticipation of the possibilities that await with the beginning of the year, what I like to think of as a clean slate.
For this issue of GCM, the team and I focused on bringing you a fresh take on not only the way we go about our everyday lives, but also the way we interact with our amazing Gold Coast region. We sampled new tastes (see Kirra’s sparkling review of RACV Royal Pines Resort’s new addition Videre on page 82) revisited our favourite relaxation retreats (see page 90) and put some local talent through their paces (see our fashion feature with local Anthea Page on page 37). I also chatted to born-and-bred Gold Coaster Jesinta Campbell who recently graced our screens on Channel Nine’s Celebrity Apprentice Australia. This young lady really is one-in-a million and her refreshing take on life and the opportunities that have been presented to her is truly inspiring. I also picked the brain of local entrepreneur David Prior, the head honcho at Five:am yoghurt. Not only is this great product 100 per cent certified organic, but it is Australian made. David’s take on life and how we treat the world around us is not only insightful, but intriguing. I was interested to discover that as a practising yogi and avid surfer, David loves nothing more than coming home to Tallebudgera to spend a few hours at his favourite local break, Currumbin Alley. We are just so lucky here on the Coast. Make sure you get out there and enjoy it while the Summer sun holds us in its gaze.
Enjoy.
